This Is Not Dubai | Progressive

I’ve been listening to Sharam’s Dubai double-album and loving it. I started downloading some of the tracks from the album to my turntables yesterday, as well as some other stuff, and decided to do a quick mix.

I’ve been playing with a few techniques on the decks recently, and this recording highlights them. The first is filling in the breakdowns so that I keep the energy going until it’s time to rest. This makes for fewer comedowns, which therefore become more impactful.

The second is mixing songs that are either in the same or complementary keys so that they sound good when overlapped.
